We had the pleasure of Barry Coates and his lovely wife Kate organise the Vincenzo lancia Birthday run again for 2023 in what would of been Vincenzo’s 142nd birthday . The mornington peninsula never disappoints and the day turned out picture perfect. Kate organised an observation challenge for those with co-pilots that could observe and write . this meant the drivers had to be on their best behaviour driving wise to keep pace with the clues. ie : who was robin hood’s little friend as we passed over Littlejohn bridge.
The route took us all over the scenic Mornington peninsula taking about 2hrs to complete . There was the mandatory U-turn when the instructions were a bit vague but overall the 25 strong participation really enjoyed it. There was also a great selection of lancia’s with 4x Beta’s , 3 x Fulvia’s 2 x Flavia, and terry’s open top to Dilambda all finishing the course without incident.
A lot of talk was on the upcoming Castlemaine 27 event and how everyone was looking forward to attending the weekend and after the sumptuous lunch, it was time to check the scores of the observation run with Kate adjudicating as the answers were shouted out. Taking out the top prize with Lucasz and Justyna Bachoraz with almost a perfect score , and in second place was Mandy Monteleone both winning a bottle of Pinot Noir from Mornington estate.

Departure time will be 10.30am when we will commence a scenic drive through rural parts of the Mornington Peninsula. Roads selected will allow you enjoy the handling qualities of your Lancia. Arrival at Sanctuary Inn for lunch at 12.15pm.
